THAT INVISIBLE BOUNDARY CALLED COMFORT ZONE

We all have it and we all honor and cherish it. What IS IT? It is the unseen gated community of our very own self described COMFORT ZONE. It is a very powerful emotional fence that protects us from having to face experiences that show us the path of growth and dimension. A first cousin of "fear," the comfort is the second greatest inhibitor to personal, emotional and spiritual success.

WKIPEDIA, though not your best source for accurate history, science or even biography, occasionally provides some useful and even motivational information. Such is the following quote from WIKIPEDIA regarding the term "COMFORT ZONE."
WIKI states:

"The comfort zone is a behavioural state within which a person operates in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviours to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk (White 2009).[1] A person's personality can be described by his or her comfort zones. Highly successful persons may routinely step outside their comfort zones, to accomplish what they wish. A comfort zone is a type of mental conditioning that causes a person to create and operate mental boundaries. Such boundaries create an unfounded sense of security. Like inertia, a person who has established a comfort zone in a particular axis of his or her life, will tend to stay within that zone without stepping outside of it. To step outside their comfort zone, a person must experiment with new and different behaviours, and then experience the new and different responses that occur within their environment."

This false sense of security that dwelling within your comfort zone creates leads one to believe that they can live anxiety free if they adhere to this emotional electric fence. Bit the truth is, my comfort zone only works to keep me locked in. It does nothing to look out the very things that cause anxiety. A comfort zone is a mirage, a prison cell with emotions for bars and phantom guards . It is an imaginary life that is nothing more than a mirage.
