T. A. Frank, a contributor for "The New Republic" is cautioning liberals who are embracing the Amnesty Bill (S. 744) that just passed the senate. Though he doesn't come right our and say it, amnesty and the lack of immigration law enforcement is the slave ship of the 21st century. Rather than packing Hispanics on a ship, we are allowing them to flood the country with only token restraint. Why? They are the cheap labor that supplies "The Help" for the middle class as well as the wealthy. It is the slave trade of the Obama Administration and others before him who refused to close the borders to illegals. We show greed and moral weakness when we pretend that we are doing illegals a favor to flood the welfare system with more underpaid and overlooked illegal immigrants who are lost in the system and under the radar of a most intensely surveilled society. We did not lose illegal aliens, we let them down. They expected more from the "the land of the free and the home of the brave,". Rather than teaching them HOW to be upstanding American citizens, we have taught them how to be successfully illegal. We have chained them to the American dream and now we want to pass a bill that will put them under the oversight and care of "The Boss Man," the So called progressive government. "The Help" will continue arriving if we do not take a stand.
